Ways of puja
Most of the devotees come to this holy place to pay a visit to Maa Nalateswari but also to give offerings in terms of Puja. The goddess in return showers blessings to her followers.
Opening of “Garb Griha†(sanctum of sanctorum): Puja ceremonies get started from 5:30 am.
Closure timings: at 8:30 pm.
Timing of Bhog: Around 1pm, there is Rice offering (“Anya Bhogâ€) is being offered to the goddess that latter on gets distributed as “Prasad†or blessings’ of Maa Nalateswari.
Timing of the Evening Aarti:
A special “Aarti†(Religious ritual of worship with the help of a burning lamp) occurs that gives more activeness to those devotees present at the site.
Blood sacrifices still prevalent:
Even blood sacrifices of goats are still prevalent here. The devotees try to seek the blessings of the deity by offering this kind of sacrifices.
General way of sacrificial performance:
The most common method of this sacrifice is the goat at first is being purified and then taken to the sand pit where with the help of single stroke, the goat is being brought to death. After the blood of the goat is being collected in a bowl it becomes a part of offerings. Even as a good charm, the blood is being applied over the followers’ forehead that marks the adoption of god’s blessings.
